Welcome to my latest Singapore food adventure! During a whirlwind 48-hour trip, I explored three must-visit halal-friendly cafes that showcase the city's diverse culinary scene. From artisanal bagels to French-Asian fusion pastries and decadent desserts, here's your guide to some of Singapore's halal eateries.
Wooly's Bagel: A Halal Bagel Haven

Wooly's Bagel stands out as Singapore's premier Muslim-owned bagel destination, crafting exceptional artisanal bagels that perfectly balance tradition with innovation. Their halal-certified menu features creative combinations that elevate the humble bagel to new heights.

I sampled their signature Bagel & Lox, and it didn't disappoint. Picture this: a perfectly crafted bagel with a glossy exterior giving way to a satisfyingly chewy center, complemented by the delicate interplay of smoked salmon and cream cheese.
Must-Try Menu Items:
GTFBagel: An indulgent creation featuring chicken ham, golden hash browns, fluffy scrambled eggs, and aromatic truffle mayo
Barnyard Birdie: A house favorite elevated by their signature secret sauce
Hot Mess: For spice enthusiasts seeking a flavor-packed adventure
Bagel & Lox: Their take on the timeless salmon and cream cheese combination
Location and Atmosphere
With locations in Joo Chiat, Rangoon Road (where I visited), and Arab Street, each Wooly's outlet offers an inviting, contemporary space. The open kitchen concept adds a theatrical element, allowing guests to witness the art of bagel-making firsthand.

One 18 Bakery: Where East Meets West

During my stroll through the vibrant Kampong Glam district, I rediscovered One 18 Bakery, a gem I first encountered at their Tampines location. This halal-certified establishment masterfully combines French pastry techniques with Asian flavors, creating unique and memorable treats.
My previous visit introduced me to their innovative beef rendang croissant [meat slow-cooked in coconut milk and spices until it becomes tender] paired with sambal ikan bilis [spicy anchovies]. This time, I took advantage of their value-for-money 3-for-$10 deal, while treating myself to their divine Nutella-filled supreme croissant and a perfectly crafted iced latte. The new location offers intimate seating in a minimalist setting that lets their exceptional baked goods take center stage.

Three's A Crowd: Sweet Endings

After wandering through Little India, I found the perfect dessert spot. While their famous Ondeh Waffles (a creative spin on the traditional pandan and palm sugar dessert) weren't available, what I discovered instead was equally impressive.

This halal-certified establishment has earned its reputation for excellence, offering premium artisanal gelato, freshly baked goods, and creative desserts, all crafted with high-quality halal ingredients.

I indulged in their innovative Mochi Churros Waffles paired with rich Chocolate Gelato, and classic Maple Waffles topped with refreshing Strawberry Gelato. An Iced Latte completed this delightful experience.

The space itself is a perfect blend of contemporary design and comfort, ideal for both casual meetups and special occasions.
